Key Vocabulary

• Triage — Ordering incoming defects/signals so scarce engineering capacity hits highest impact first.
• Severity — How bad the defect is if real — technical and user/business damage.
• Priority — What should be worked next given constraints (capacity, release, workarounds).
• Blast radius — Scope of harm: who is affected, how badly, and how far impact spreads.
• Containment — Interim control that reduces harm while a durable fix is in progress.
• Workaround — Alternate path users or ops can take to complete the goal despite the defect.
